Blackpool V Barnsley at Bloomfield Road - Match Preview

Ince banned for Seasiders

Thomas Ince will begin a two-match suspension when Blackpool welcome Barnsley to Bloomfield Road for their first home game this season.

The highly-rated forward, who has been included in the England Under-21 squad to face Scotland next week, did not contest an FA charge of using an offensive and/or insulting and/or abusive gesture towards a match official.

Ince was one of a number of players to pick up a slight injury in the derby defeat to Preston on Monday.

Midfielder Angel Martinez, like Ince struggling with a groin strain, and Craig Cathcart are both doubts with boss Paul Ince frustrated at his side playing two games in just three days.

Barnsley defender Martin Cranie will miss the game after being sidelined for four weeks with a knee injury.

Cranie was forced out of the midweek Capital One Cup penalty shoot-out win over Scunthorpe in midweek after twisting his knee, so Scott Wiseman could continue or Bobby Hassell may get a recall.

Fellow defender Lewin Nyatanga (hamstring) is still waiting for his first appearance since returning to the club and midfielder Kelvin Etuhu (hamstring) remains 10 days away from a return to full training.

Manager David Flitcroft has no other new injury worries, but is still without midfielder Dale Jennings, who sits out the second game of a three-match ban after his dismissal in the opening-day defeat to Wigan.
