Seasiders v Swans post match reaction
"I always said 52 points would give us safety in the Championship and now we are on 54 and still there or thereabouts with a possible play-off place.
"That is some achievement for this club and its players, who were written off by the bookies as relegation candidates at the start of the season."
Swansea manager Paulo Sousa, whose side have now gone four games without a win, said: "Of course I am disappointed but Blackpool have more experience in playing in these sort of conditions.
"We have just got to get ourselves back together again for Saturday. The players know they have to focus themselves.
"Blackpool scored some good goals and that is why I need to strengthen my defence."
Blackpool started superbly and a fifth-minute knockdown from Burgess gave Taylor-Fletcher a shooting opportunity which brought a great save from Dorus De Vries.
Seven minutes later De Vries could only palm away an angled drive from Billy Clarke, the ball ran loose in the penalty area and Ormerod beat Ashley Williams to the chase to score the opener.
Swansea were slow to get into their stride but winger Nathan Dyer made some dangerous runs which lacked support.
Blackpool went two ahead just before the break with Clarke again laying the ground work.
He was brought down on the edge of the penalty area but the referee played the advantage and Clarke recovered to cut a pass back to Ian Evatt to scored with a low, 18-yard drive.
Sousa tried to lift his side after the break with three early substitutions but Clarke again tore into his defence just five minutes into the second period.
This time his shot hit the inside of a post and Burgess was on hand for a simple tap-in.
Ormerod made it 4-0 on 68 minutes with a thunderous shot into the top corner and Taylor-Fletcher completed the home scoring eight minutes from time.
Swansea grabbed a late consolation after a loose back pass gave Cedric Van Der Gun a simple opportunity to score from 10 yards.
