Blackpool have been handed an openning day start at Holloways old club QPR after the fixtures were revealed this morning. Ollie is reported to be delighted with the news.

"I knew I was going to play some of my ex-teams at certain times of the season, but it will be a great time to play them," Holloway told the club's website.

"Obviously they have a new manager (Jim Magilton) but like I said, I just can't wait to take the Tangerine army there and give it a right good go.

"I won't get stick. I have been back there a few times now and I have always had a very good reception from them."

Other highlights include the first visit of Newcastle United in almost 22 years when they visit on Tuesday 15th September. In their last meeting back in 1987 Tony Cunningham intercepted a poor Paul Gascoigne backpass which gave the Seasiders a deserved 1-0 first leg victory in the League Cup second round.

Pool will entertain Preston NE at Bloomfield Road on 28th November with the re-match at Deepdale on 13th February. Trips to new stadiums include Middlesbrough on the 8th December, Cardiff City on the 9th January and St James Park on the 10th April.

Pre-season Pool are on the road when they travel to Rochdale on July 25th, Carlisle on July 28th and finally Oldham on August 1st.
